This letter expresses the City of Livermore's gratitude for your company's excellent work constructing the Livermorium Plaza in downtown Livermore. Your company did an outstanding job during the soil remediation portion of the project working within extremely tight site constraints while keeping traffic and pedestrians safe. There were many large pieces of equipment and construction personnel on site during the soil remediation operation and no public safety issues were reported. The City was fortunate to have your team meticulously oversee that safety came first at all times. Upon the completion of the soil remediation, your firm constructed a beautiful Plaza, that will be enjoyed by the public for many years to come. Throughout the project, the Bothman team was a pleasure to work. Their team attended all biweekly meetings required by the oversight regulatory agency, in addition to weekly construction meeting for this project. Their professionalism and attention to detail was the key in keeping this project moving as quickly as possible, even with unexpected requirements directed by the oversight agency. Further, the City and Bothman team were able to work through a number of unknown site conditions, such as the discovery of an underground storage tank and the encounter of gravely soils 40+ feet below grade that caused structural redesign, just to name a few. Bothman also assisted in working with the adjacent businesses impacted during construction, which helped smooth relations with the business owners. Bothman was fair in negotiating change orders for this project and kept the project moving forward.

Bothman proactively identified improvements and cost savings to the project. They provided forward-thinking notifications of potential constraints and suggested remedies that consistently added value to the project. The project schedule was thorough and clear but with built-in flexibility to accommodate HARD needs, delays from PGE, and to navigate multiple weather events such as atmospheric rivers. The sequencing of the work was mindful of potential challenges and was executed to avoid any delays. Several owner requested changes and unforeseen circumstances were identified as the work progressed, and Bothman worked with HARD to provide timely and accurately priced solutions. The team went above and beyond by graciously working with neighbors to minimize construction impacts and see that their needs were met. This willingness to work with all stakeholders was key to the project’s success. HARD found Bothman to be an experienced team that is committed to doing a project the right way.
